Roof damage worth it?

Did it roll over or what? If so, probably not.
Actually it looks like it didn't. Pillars would've been messed up as well, most likely.

If you get a torch you can get out the dents by going around them with it. (only works on old cars) So get it.

Its priced accordingly to the damage it has. Plus what ever other rust spots it has, like that one by the passenger door. Its gonna be real tough to put that roof straight without a decent investment.

No expert here, but it looks like someone just git angry and smacked the roof with a hammer or something. The pillars and body look too good for it to be rolled.

Yeah you're probably right.

Maybe a tree (or part of one) fell on it?

O hell no. I've worked at a body shop before and can tell you, without a doubt, it would take you over a week of solid 8-hour-a-day work to make it look good, let alone perfect. Run.

turn it into a convertible?

That car is chalked full of rust. If you can do the work yourself, it'll be a long project. If you can't do the work, you'll be out of a shit-load of money.

Looks like something fell on it. I'm sure the windshield header and probably at least one A-pillar got bent. If you can get it back into good enough shape for all the windows to seal, go for it. Coupe prices haven't kept up with fastbacks, but it's only a matter of time before this is a $10,000 car as is.

Screw that, go full speedster. 20 minutes with a Sawzall and you're good to go.
